AJ Burnett

It's been a coupla days now, and the media is still screaming that we're supposed to be furious about AJ Burnett "showing up" Joe Girardi.  Somebody needs to explain to me why I'm supposed to give a fuck.  Number one, nobody actually knows what AJ or Girardi said.  Number two, nobody would be accusing anybody of showing up anybody if it wasn't for YES showing the fucking clip over and over like it was the Zapruder film.  Number three, if AJ did tell Girardi to fuck off or whatever, what the fuck do I care?  He's a starting pitcher on the New York Yankees - if he gets yanked from a game, what are we supposed to hope he does?  As New Yorkers we love to celebrate an athlete's cutthroat, hyper-bordering-on-the-mental competitiveness - of COURSE we want him to be pissed!  The only surprise to me is Girardi even noticing or acknowledging a pitcher popping off under the kleiglights, which makes my spidey senses tingle into believing Burnett really WAS referencing the uncalled 3rd strike to Mauer, and not ripping Girardi.

But again, why the fuck are we supposed to care?  Mostly, what kind of pitcher are we hoping for - one that gleefully hands the ball over after being shelled and skips off the mound singing "that's okay, I made $500K in the last 20 minutes!"?
