Slice du Jour

I've probably actually bought 3 cds in the dozen years I've lived in New York, and none is more cherished (hey, I'm gay, sue me!!) than the self-titled Teenage Head, a veritable compendium of post-punk/power-pop "let's rock!!" slices released some 30 years ago. A few years earlier I had released an ep titled Take My Teenage Head (still some copies left FOR SALE!!!! BUY NOW!!) having never heard of the band; one afternoon while living in Oxford I got a call from a friend of mind who had found a record by a band called Teenage Head in the Richmond public library, and he was so knocked out by the song he called me up to play it over the phone. And it WAS great, and the name stuck in my head, and I walked right into the album quite by accident on Bleeker Street a few years later. - XMASTIME
