Sean Carter, Xmastime Is On to your Bullshit

Earlier today I "mused" (cough) about the odds of Jay-Z sticking to his "never use 'bitch' in a song again" promise, and now it looks like after he co-opted Occupy Wall street to sell t-shirts and be "one of the people," he's used the birth of his daughter to hope no one finds out he's slashed his clothing line's staff in half.
We've all been so busy buzzing about the birth of Blue Ivy Carter that we didn't notice some less joyful news out of the Jay-Z camp. His company Rocawear recently laid off more than half of its staff. To make matters worse, the timing of the firings was especially poor. They fired 28 employees in total for "economic" reasons. The cuts were made on January 6th, just one day before Jay-Z and Beyonce welcomed Blue Ivy to the world in the comfort of a fancy private hospital suite. Well, this does even further damage to the idea that Jay supports the 99%
Of course, this isn't the first time he's used a populist movement of hope and change to line his pockets. Jay-Z's got 99 problems, and apparently being a duplicitous dickhead is one of them.  You will please excuse my not having a look of shock on my face the moment he kicks his "beloved" Nets to the curb for the Knicks.
