People seem to be bent out of shape at Jonathan Franzen turning his nose up at e-books.
I really don't see what the fuss is about. Look, Franzen is 52 years old - in other words, he's about as close to retirement age as he is to 40. Of COURSE he's threatened by/doesn't "get" the latest technology. Yeah, some old guy doesn't like the idea that the very machine which has lined his pockets for a decade is changing; why is this even remotely a surprise/story? I'm sure a year from now he'll be even more cranky about some new device by which people will read his books, "stealing his soul!" Do you think 52 year-old newspaper reporters were lining up to buy televisions back in the day?
