Downton Abbey fans spent a lot of Season 2 squirming a bit with how soapy the series had become compared to the first season, but I must say any and all sins of the show were washed away the moment Lord Grantham chose Mary's lifetime of happiness over any temporary besmirching (sorry, can't think of another word) of his family name.
