I Believe in Rock 'n Roll

A day rarely goes by that I don't thank God for The Beatles, and while I believe nothing will ever surpass the excitement of I Want to Hold Your Hand, maybe rock 'n roll's greatest moment after that was Roadrunner. - XMASTIME
The Gnat and I missed out on seeing Jonathan Richman last night because it was sold out, but today I see an article with Dean Wareham blubbering about how awesome the Modern Lovers album is:
This is one of those albums without filler, where every song counts, where you come to learn each and every drum fill, guitar note, lyric and vocal inflection. From the opening “Road Runner” to “Pablo Picasso” to “Girlfriend,”  from “Old World” on Side 1 to “Modern World,” which closes out Side 2, it is unstoppable.
Yes that's Dean Wareham from Luna whose incredible Love Barge made my Best of the 90's list. More importantly I know exactly what you're wondering and YES, this is the perfect opportunity to remind you of how awesome I am:
The nicest thing anyone's ever said to me was when some guy from Fat Possum Records told me that Take My Teenage Head reminded him of the Modern Lovers to him.

UPDATE: I'll be honest. This isn't my proudest moment.

Love Barge was Big Dipper you southern-fried redneck
especially since I already knew that. Grrr.
LOVE BARGE – Big Dipper
Super-slice. Period. Just occurred to me, is this band named after Wilt Chamberlain? Wasn’t that one of his nicknames? Interestingly enough, Wilt and I do have one thing in common. He famously slept with 20,000 women, and I famously pissed the mattress at Spring Break ’95, after which while we were out the maid put the mattress outside our door to “air out”, ensuring that every single hot, horny chick down in Fla for some cheap, anonymous fucking would know who Piss-Boy was and make sure he would spend the night in his room, alone, watching the NBA playoffs instead of hittin some skins. Jesus, where does Wilt stop and I begin? Bizarre.
