My first job after college was as a graphic designer in Oxford, MIssissippi in the mid 1990s. My computer was a Mac II that was powered by hamsters. There was such little memory and space that I couldn't have Quark and Photoshop open at the same time. If I had to scan something over like 1MB I had to go down to the local paper so they could do it. My Wish List included a 14.4 modem and something called a "zip drive." I was 23.
One of the designers I sit near is 25. I can't imagine how he'll look back at the "quaint" technology he "had to deal with" today when he's 40. Wow.
