Movie Poppity-Pop
I do not care whatever diet one is on, whatever healthy lifestyle one
may choose, it is simply not normal to go to the movies and not get a
bag of popcorn the size of your head. It’s like going to the stadium and
not getting a hot dog or your grandma’s house without making sure her
nipples get hard from looking at your bulge after you’ve gone through
her hamper. You just have to get some fucking popcorn, right? - XMASTIME
History of popcorn's
relationship with the movies:
When the Great Depression hit, however, theaters saw a critical
opportunity in the form of popcorn. In an era where few people had any
disposable income at all, movies provided a much-needed reprieve.
Opportunistic proprietors leased indoor space to popcorn makers or began
producing popcorn in-house, paving the way for the lucrative
concessions sales that would come to form a huge portion of theaters’
revenue for the next century. Suddenly, a few errant kernels on the
theater floor seemed a small price to pay to keep theaters packed.
