11 years ago today, Dee Dee Ramone died. He was the definition of punk back when it meant something: part cartoon, part songwriting genius. Who amongst us has ever done anything that equals writing "Chewin' out a rhythm on my bubble gum"? Not many, I bet. Certainly not me (Dairy Queen notwithtstanding, of course.)
I'm still glad that after all those years, he still had a classic left in him. Hell, how many bands ask a member who's left them to still write songs for them?
