I've probably bought 3 cds in the dozen years I've lived in New York, and none is more cherished by me than the self-titled Teenage Head, a seeming compendium of post-punk/power-pop slices released some 30 years ago by a band from Canada (a great town.) A few years earlier I had released an ep titled Take My Teenage Head (still some copies left FOR SALE!!!! BUY NOW!!) having never heard of the band; one afternoon while living in Oxford I got a call from a friend who had found a record by a band called Teenage Head in the Richmond public library, and he was so knocked out by it he called me up to play it over the phone. While I was at work. At Sir Speedy. And it WAS great, and the name of the band stuck in my head, and I walked right into the album quite by accident on Bleeker Street a few years later, about 10 minutes after I'd moved to NYC. And it was fucking awesome. - XMASTIMEI've spent almost 20 years searching for that very song he played over the phone for me, with no luck...
...until now! :)
