The New Yorker lists Sixty-two Films That Shaped the Art of Documentary Filmmaking and I am immediately calling bullshit on it for not including the transcendent Hoop Dreams.
Also, in 2020 are we still film snobs? Too good for television documentaries? - how else could you exclude such genre-defining classics as PBS's An American Family and the BBC's stunningly still-ongoing Seven Up? And there's a million great sports docs (just a few of my faves HERE), but we're too good for them too?
YOU BLEW IT NEW YORKER!!!!!
