John Lennon lived his last decade as a New Yorker and loved being a New Yorker, and one night he died as a New Yorker. I posted this a few few months ago, but it's worth a re-watch.
Highly recommended (by me!) is PBS' episode of American Masters documenting his years in New York city, the city he absolutely loved, from his early 70s years of activism to the three years Nixon spent trying to deport him to the five years he spent disengaging from the music industry to raise his son to his triumphant return which was tragically cut short by five bullets.
