Hank at 100

How did yesterday come and go without anyone making a bigger deal of it being the 100th anniversary if Hank Williams being born? Wtf - is there any American of the 20th Century who looms larger over the history of popular music than Hank Williams? He was the Hillybilly Shakespeare, as Ken Burns called him in incredible country music doc; there is no moment of sheer dejection you could possibly have that doesn't have its own hank song to go right along with it.

And course as your nice people already know, the very first love letter I ever wrote to my high school girlfriend began with the first line from a set of handwritten lyrics found in the back seat when Hank Williams died:

"We met, we lived and dear we loved..."

Obviously, it worked like a charm.

HAPPY BELATED BIRFDAY HANK!!!
