I watched the Jonestown Massacre doc on Hulu and one thing I learned from it is that while I consider myself dumb & gullible enough to be led into being a cult member, there's no way you're getting me to live in the goddam jungle; even while being totally brainwashed and willing to follow my spiritual leader wherever the spirit takes him spiritually, the second I felt that boiling soup of air for the first time my brain would click "okay this shit was okay for a while but we're fucking out of here". If you want me to stick around in your cult you better take me to Canada, just fyi.
