Sometimes I really think the problem with Trump is that when it comes to him Republicans think they're watching a movie; for his base, no matter how shitty things get for themselves or however repulsive we find ourselves as a country, there is something about him that they're all just sitting around watching to see how it ends, without realizing the real-world consequences. - XMASTIME

Recent events lead me to believe this may be even more on-point than I thought a year ago; the whole "replace/not replace Joe" thing has reached some sort of hysterical pitch at which it feels like we're just waiting to see how the movie will end, "who's the hero and who wins?" immediately followed by "okay, who's gonna win next?" as if another movie is starting all over right away without any actual fucking tragic consequences happening in the meantime. Baffling.
