Tramp Steamer, 1908
This jumped out at me in that I don't think I've ever seen a Hopper painting that wasn't set inside a city; I'm gonna take a minute to shamelessly pat myself on the back here for thinking to myself - thinking to myself...as opposed to thinking to a squirrel, I suppose? - that it almost looked childlike and so how pleased a punch do you think I am to see he did it when he was only 26 (for a frame (pun intended) of reference for you rubes, he did Nighthawks (look it up...I'll wait...YES, it's that one)(shit I've lost track of which parenthesis set I'm on now) when he was 60). You may now lavish me with praise. 😔
