Its incredible guest list notwithstanding, and besides the fact that I like the show very very much, I just never really bought the idea that
The Larry Sanders Show (not the HBO show but the show within the HBO show) was a real competitor to Letterman & Leno etc; everything just looked so cheap & the entire operation had a junior varsity feel to it. I mean maybe that was the point & woulda made sense to anyone inside that world but to lil ol' me, I just never really bought it. 🤔🤷♂️
