Something stinks here. I'm sure there are more than a few chairmanships in Congress that don't really matter much, but chairmanship of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, whose key word in government is OVERSIGHT, is not one of them.
So why would Dodd and crew be so anxious to keep St. Joe as the head of that committee, the OVERSIGHT committee, even after he exhausted himself trying to put John McCain in the Oval Office; even after Dodd was so vociferous in his support for Ned Lamont to defeat Lieberman in 2006? Interesting. I wonder if Dodd being the banking chair has anything to do with it. But hey, what the fuck do I know?
