Hey, let's give Yglesias credit for only being 5 months behind Xmastime on asking when did earmarks all of a sudden become AUTOMATICALLY THE WORST THINGS IN THE WOOOOOOOOOORRRLLLDD???????
As in they don't necessarily have to be. As in, they've gone from a fairly effective way of getting shit done to sound-bite raw meat for fucking idiots to get worked into a frenzy about, all while fucking themselves over in the process.
Again, don't be hard on Yglesias for being so far behind me. He only works for a progressive think tank, for chrissake. He is no XMASTIME!
