Fuck Curt Schilling

This guy over at the Atlantic wonders how Roger Clemens and Curt Schilling will fare when they both come up for their first votes for the Hall of Fame in 2013. While Clemens' numbers are staggering, obviously his steroid issues are gonna cost him votes (and maybe the Hall.)

But I'm fucking sick and tired of the Schilling in the Hall of Fame nonsense. Yes, after a decade of doing nothing he got his shit together and had a nice career, and pitched in some big games. But are we really supposed to put someone in the Hall of Fame purely based on going 11-2 in the postseason? 13 games, and we put him in the Hall of Fucking Fame? Really? Hey, El Duque went 9-2 in the postseason and won more rings than Schilling. Should we put him in the Hall of Fame?

I think there has to be more of a gap between the number of career postseason wins (11) and seasons with a losing record (8) for a pitcher to get into the Hall of Fame.

Also, if Schilling goes in purely because he was a "big game pitcher," then Robert Horry has to be elected into the NBA Hall of Fame.

Grrrr.
