The singer was approached by the producers of the successful show because they wanted to use some of his solo material in the programme.Watching Paul play the Golden Slumbers medley last night was transcendent; I don't think I've ever seen him do it live. Though I coulda done without Dave fucking Grohl chomping on bubblegum behind him as Paul sang the final verse. Dickhead.
However, following long talks Sir Paul, 69, ended up agreeing to take on a walk-on role as well as giving the hit TV show permission to use his songs.
A source said to The Sun newspaper: 'It's perfect timing because his new music suits the programme perfectly.
'Action in the show has now reached the Swinging Sixties. So it's only right that the man who was pivotal to the era is involved in the show.'
They continued: 'Macca could have a walk-on part if he wished but it's unlikely he'll ask for a role. He's more than happy just to supply the tunes.'
What're they up to when the show returns, Revolver? I'm sure they'll highlight Sgt. Pepper. Can't fucking wait.
UPDATE: oh oh...I just realized it says his "solo" stuff, not Beatles...yikes.
