TVVetter

VEEP
HBO

VEEP's dialogue was legitimately funny; no surprise there for anyone who saw Iannuci's In the Loop (thanks Marley!) or is a fan of Elaine Benes. Also, how great is Anna Chumsky?

HOWEVER.

We get it, Julie Louis-Dreyfuss wants to say "fuck" a lot, which is something she brought up in Curb Your Enthusiasm. Enough. It's like the first episodes of Mad Men hammering on us that in the 1960's people liked to smoke.

ALSO.

How many more awkward, foot-in-mouth Peter-principled characters can we squeeze onto television anymore? This show makes me pine for a main character who, instead of being charmingly bumbling, is just a flat-out asshole. Can we get a show around Roy Biggans please?
