Pavement

Pavement "Slanted and Enchanted": doesn't sound wintry, but it was snowing when I first heard it in a station wagon (and I REALLY wanted to hate it.) - XMASTIME
I've never bothered to care about any of their other albums or the band itself but, as I've mentioned several times, Slanted & Enchanted will always be a big record for me, maybe even the album of the 90's. Here's a pretty cool interview at Grantland with Bob Nastonovich.

Is there any rock 'n roll era that CAN'T ever be looked back upon as "There were no rules. The great thing about indie rock at that time is that things were pretty free and easy"?
