Although back in the day The Beatles and Dylan would regularly did it, by the 70's bands releasing "Irish Twins," ie albums released within the same calendar year, was fairly irregular. The two greatest examples to me have always been The Ramones' Leave Home and Rocket to Russia, and Husker Du's New Day Rising and Flip Your Wig. All four albums are A+++++ albums. - XMASTIME
The problem with both New Day Rising and Flip Your Wig is that just like every Husker album, there's 3-4 songs tacked on at the end that just totally - well, almost -ruin the goddam album. And of course we know that the entire reason for this is legendary asshole Bob Mould insisting that he always had more songs on each album than Grant Hart. So tacked on each album we have shit like Watcha Drinkin/Don't Know Yet/The Wit and Wisdom etc etc that would normally have ZERO chance of making any album much less any classic, amazing Husker albums like each of these otherwise are.
