As long as I've loved The Lyres, it's never occurred to me to wonder if this is the single greatest instance in rock of a band recording two vastly different versions of the same song and then just saying fuck it let's just put both versions on the album? This came out in 1986 - could it be seen as a forefather to what will probably be the (horrifying) future of music, ie fans getting to pick & choose which parts make up songs they like and how those parts are arranged et al?
