Calling Out Grunge's Bullshit

It's funny, Seattle has an insanely rich garage rock history from the 1960's filled with guitar-driven bands including Paul Revere & the Raiders, the Wailers, THE GODDAM SONICS!!!!!!!!, countless great bands that made up so much of the fantastic Back from the Grave series and oh yeah the Kingsmen who knocked out a scrappy little single called Louie Louie and yet throughout all of the grunge era years of the early 90s I never once remember hearing any of the grunge bands mention any of the earlier Seattle bands, despite everybody popping their hamstrings jumping up to tell you about the mystical magic that was in the musical water of Seattle. Maybe that's part of why I never really connected with grunge, despite it seemingly having been crafted in a lab solely to drop into my lap at the exact time I was learning to play guitar myself? 🤔🤷‍♂️
