Cheney

For some strange reason I find myself WANTING to give Cheney the benefit of the doubt and think well, he's throwing himself on the grenade for Bush. But then I remember that when put on a VP-finding committee he found...himself. And when asked to serve his country five different times, he said eff that, send somebody else. So we're not really talking about someone with a long history of selflessness.
