The GOP is getting some shit because it looks like their spending cuts will cause about 700,000 jobs to be lost. In fact, 320 namby-pamby economists have signed a petition begging Congress to not be so "irresponsible." First of all, I had no idea that many economists even existed - I thought the only nerds out there so into numbers were Paul Krugman and this guy.
But hey - over 400,000 Americans were killed in World War II ("The Big One"), and since dead people can't work, I'm guessing they lost their jobs. And THEY were our "Greatest Generation," so who's to say these 700,000 can't be even BETTER? Instead of giving the GOP grief, maybe a "thank you!" is in order here?
