Traveling Backwards

Watching the clips of President Kennedy during the Discovery Channel's doc "When We Left Earth," it’s depressing to realize that over 40 years ago, there was a President demanding that the US be the leader of the world in an endeavor that combined science, mathematics, engineering, and the greatest minds that were on the planet. Now, we have a president demanding the US be the leader of the world through some sort of divine providence, faith, jingoism and insisting on our heads being stuck in the sand as far as possible. Another amazing example of how far backwards we’ve gone over the decades.
