Being a liberal atheist, it's fun to make fun of right-wing Bible nutters whenever they say something stupid. However, calling someone stupid has become the disqualifying, "game over!" play - even if someone says 2 + 2 = 5, you hafta dance around how stupid that person is, you can't just say "you're an idiot," therein unleashing faux-populist outrage from people who normally wouldn't cross the street to go over that person's SRA scores (remember those?!?!?!?!)
So of course while I'm on "vacation," an actual study comes out saying that liberals and atheists are more intelligent.

You kinda twisted the argument to fit your desired outcome:
