After Walsh drafted Clark, he made Clark and quarterback Joe Montana practice a certain 20-yard roll-out "Hail Mary" pass into the end zone at the end of every practice. Walsh wanted to make sure that they could complete that certain pass in the red zone.I guess there's a reason Walsh won a few games in his career.
Also, and I'm too lazy to look it up, I'm pretty sure I once read Bobby Plump saying the same thing about his shot that gave us The Milan Miracle,* that Coach Wood had drilled him all summer before the season to work on such a shot in case they needed it to win a game, and BLAMMO! next thing you know, Gene Hackman is making out with the fugly Barbara Herschey.
