Torre

Joe Torre has been elected to the Hall of Fame. Inexplicably Mike Lupica, the worst writer in the world, makes sense:

What I remember best is that Torre always knew how to lose as well as he knew how to win, maybe because of all those years as a player when he didn't make it to the World Series, and started to think he never would. There was the night we were at a party together after the 2001 World Series, and in a quiet moment he was talking about how people were still consoling him about losing Game 7, even after that extraordinary week in New York, the city still in the shadow of Sept. 11, when the Yankees won dramatic World Series games that will be remembered forever.
Of course he's talking about Nine Innings from Ground Zero.
